Week 4 - Updates to Action Research Plan
This is going to be pretty short this week...
I have met several times with during this course with my site supervisor/principal. We have been on the same page the entire time about what my project should be and how we should go about its implementation. The only major change I have made to my plan at this time was the addition of the special programs teachers. My site supervisor and I want lots of input in the PLC and we can improve the writing abilities of the students, but not too many teachers.
Next week is week 5! We are so close to being done. I have learned so much thus far in the Lamar Ed. Admin. Program. I am very happy! :)

Leigh Ann,
ReplyDeleteIt's awesome that you are in such a great place with your site supervisor. Though there wasn't a ton of revision going on, what you did have was clarity of thought. Also, less changes means more depth of detail and work on one thought. I'm excited to see your plan as it grows!
Clarity of thought and focus could be viewed as a form of revision. Re-vision: taking a second look. Leigh Ann, you're past the point of major changes. Now, you're fine tuning and strengthening your focus. Even as we begin to implement the plan, as we reflect, this fine tuning will continue.
DeleteGood luck to you with your action research.
I have a great situation with my site supervisor, too. Having a supportive mentor will make this journey much easier and more enjoyable. Thanks for all your support with this group. You have some great ideas and seem to really have it together. I will be checking back to see how it is going with your plan.
ReplyDeleteI do not know how I would have made it through this class without my site supervisor. She really has been there to guide me the whole way through. I'm glad to know that you had a similar experience with yours. Because of my communications with my site supervisor, my action research will not have any changes either.
ReplyDeleteWay to go! I think that including the special programs teachers will be beneficial for you ARP. As stated in our video this week, collaboration is very important. The more people we collaborate with the better off we are!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Daniel. Clarity is such an important part of starting a project, and having the support you do have is something special. I know you will do a good job, and have a great impact on your campus.
ReplyDeleteHaving that positive relationship with your site supervisor is a must for your action research project to succeed- for one, someone will have your back! I am excited to see your results. I know you will do amazing things at your campus- good luck!
ReplyDeleteWoohoo! I'm so excited this is almost finished - it's really gone by fast! I'm excited to see our progress as these projects begin. There are a lot of topics, including yours that I am interested in. My site supervisor has been very supportive as well and that will make a huge difference for us!
ReplyDeleteLeigh Ann,
ReplyDeleteI think we are all ready to just get started. I am very happy with my site supervisor as well she is very supportive and giving me a lot of new experiences. The sky is my limit. Unfortunately, I think sometimes my want and ability are going to clash. I hope all continues to go well for you.
Leigh Ann!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to hear about how your project goes along the way!!! Especially since we are both 4th grade teachers!!! I meant to reply to your comment you left me sooner-- but I definitely would love to connect our classes and bounce ideas! You're brave to take on writing!!! It's tough for sure, but already just seeing how thought out you are in this masters class, I know you will do great!!!
It is awesome that you and your site supervisor are on the same page. You seem to be well on your way to a smooth transition into implementing your action research plan. Hopefully soon I too will be on the same page as my site supervisor and my action research plan can come together.
ReplyDeleteI think it is wonderful you have a great relationship with your site supervisor. I'm hoping to develop the same kind of relationship. I think it is a great idea to add special program teachers to your ARP. Good Luck!
